The same clinical care, delivered via video.

Telehealth Exercise Physiology is a live, one-on-one video consultation with one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. It is not a phone call, a pre-recorded program, or a generic app. You receive a real-time assessment, personalised exercise prescription, and ongoing support β€” exactly as you would in our Mordialloc clinic.

All telehealth sessions are delivered by the same fully accredited clinicians who see patients in-clinic. Your program is built around your specific health history, goals, and home environment β€” then delivered via our exercise app with videos, sets, reps, and notes.

Telehealth is available to new and existing patients anywhere in Australia β€” not just southeast Melbourne. If you are interstate, rural, or simply prefer the convenience of home-based care, we can help.

Telehealth Exercise Physiology: common questions

Can I access Beachside EP via telehealth if I am not in Melbourne?
Yes β€” this is one of the main reasons we offer telehealth. We see patients from every state and territory in Australia. Whether you are in regional Victoria, interstate, or in a remote area, if you have a device with a camera and a stable internet connection, we can see you. New patients are welcome regardless of location.
Do I need any special equipment or software?
No. All you need is a device with a camera β€” a smartphone, tablet, or laptop is perfect β€” and a stable internet connection. The video platform runs directly in your browser. We will send you a secure link before your appointment. Nothing to download or install.
Can I claim Medicare for a telehealth Exercise Physiology session?
Yes. A Medicare rebate of $61.80 per session is available when you hold an active Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your GP that includes Exercise Physiology. This applies to telehealth sessions in exactly the same way as in-clinic visits. We process the rebate immediately via HICAPS β€” no paperwork from you.
Is telehealth as effective as coming in person?
For the majority of what we do β€” assessment, program design, education, and progress reviews β€” telehealth is highly effective and well supported by research. Some things, like an InBody scan or certain hands-on assessments, do require an in-person visit, and we will always recommend that if it is clinically appropriate for your situation.
I am not great with technology. Will I be able to manage this?
Yes. We set it up to be as simple as possible β€” just click the link we email you. If you have any trouble, call us on 0409 051 260 before your appointment and we will walk you through it step by step. We regularly help patients of all ages and tech comfort levels, including older adults who have never done a video call before.
Can new patients book telehealth, or is it only for existing patients?
Both. New patients anywhere in Australia are very welcome to book an Initial Telehealth Consultation. We will conduct a full clinical assessment via video β€” the same thorough intake process as in-clinic. You do not need to have seen us in person first.
What if my internet drops out during the session?
If your connection drops, your clinician will attempt to call you on the phone number you provided at booking. We will complete the remainder of the session by phone if needed, or reschedule at no charge if the connection cannot be restored.
Does my private health insurance cover telehealth Exercise Physiology?
Most extras cover policies that include Exercise Physiology will rebate telehealth sessions at the same rate as in-clinic visits. However, policies vary, so we recommend checking with your insurer before booking. We can process your rebate via HICAPS on the day regardless of whether you attend in-person or online.
