Exercise Physiology, prescribed movement that actually works
Exercise Physiology is not personal training. It is clinician-led, evidence-based exercise designed to treat and manage chronic disease, injury, pain and metabolic health.

Exercise as medicine, structured, measurable and clinically driven
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-trained allied health professionals registered with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). We are qualified to assess, prescribe and supervise therapeutic exercise for people living with a chronic health condition, injury or disability.
Unlike gym-based training, every program is built around your medical history, test results, goals and capacity, then progressively adjusted as your body responds. We work alongside your GP, specialists and other allied health providers so your program complements your broader care.
Sessions take place in our clinic, one-on-one or in a small supervised group. Everything is tracked and reported back to your referring clinician.

What to expect when you come to us
From your first assessment to ongoing review, here is how your program takes shape.
Initial assessment
A full health and movement screen. We review your history, test your capacity and identify what is limiting you.
Personalised program
Your AEP designs a structured, progressive program built specifically around your condition, goals and schedule.
Supervised sessions
One-on-one or small-group sessions where your clinician monitors technique, intensity and progress in real time.
Ongoing review
Regular reassessment keeps your program in step with your improvements, and your GP is kept in the loop.
Who benefits from Exercise Physiology?
If you are managing any of the following, exercise physiology is likely a good fit. This is a guide, not a complete list.
You do not need to be fit to start
We see people who have never exercised before, people recovering from serious illness or surgery, and people who have been told to move more by their GP but have no idea where to begin.
If you are managing a chronic condition, dealing with persistent pain, or have been through a health scare and want to get on top of things, Exercise Physiology is likely appropriate for you. A GP referral is not required to book, but if you have one it may unlock Medicare-subsidised sessions under a Chronic Disease Management plan.
