Exercise Physiology

Clinician-prescribed exercise for chronic disease, pain, injury and metabolic health.

Exercise Physiology is an allied health profession — not personal training, not physiotherapy. It is the clinical prescription of structured, progressive exercise to treat and manage chronic conditions. If your GP has referred you, you are in the right place.

What is Exercise Physiology?

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-trained allied health professional who uses exercise as medicine. Where a physiotherapist treats injury and a personal trainer improves fitness, an Exercise Physiologist sits in between — treating chronic conditions, improving function and preventing further decline through clinically prescribed exercise.

Every program at Beachside EP is built around your specific diagnosis, medications, test results and goals. We track outcomes in real data — not just how you feel.

★★★★★

"1 knee injury. 2 years not getting better. 3 operations and three surgeons. Nearly 700 rehab workouts — all yielding no results. After a while the doctors gave me a disability parking permit and told me to suck it up. Exercise physiology is my new religion."

What happens at your first appointment

45 to 60 minute clinical assessment — we review your history, medications, test results, lifestyle and goals. Not a sales pitch.

Functional testing — strength, balance, cardiovascular fitness and movement patterns relevant to your specific situation.

3

A written clinical program — you leave with a structured, progressive plan. Not a printout of generic exercises.
